Happy New Year! It's 2017, a new year, a new opportunity to make changes, to get things right, to improve. How many of you have set self improvement goals? Good for you! But I want you to do a little self check for me please: is this goal stemming from love or hate?
See there is nothing wrong with working to improve yourself, I think it's one of the most admirable things you can do. However the problem lies in how you approach the self improvement. Are you shaming yourself into doing better? Do you hate what you are trying to fix? Or are you doing it out of love? A desire to be better, feel better, accepting where you are and working to move forward. This makes a huge difference! It may not seem like it, but that little switch in mindset can make all the difference in the world, and in your body.
Your mind is a part of you. In fact it cannot be separated from your body. There is no dissecting line. Your brain can be separated from the rest of your body, however the mind does not just exist in the brain. Your body has a mind of it's own- your nerves react without mental thought, your gut instinct knows things before your brain can process them. Your mind is a huge part of you.
Have you ever received a love letter? A note from a sweetheart? Even a card or a text that made you feel special and loved. Think of that. How it made you feel. How it effected your thoughts for the following hours. It brightens that day, makes everything seem better, happier, more tolerable. It changes how you look at life, and can change how your body functions.
So as you work toward your goals this year, take a moment to create a positive mindset around them. Write yourself a love letter. :) No? OK, how about some daily affirmations? Try repeating a few of these to yourself daily. What have you got to loose? Life is short. Don't spend any more of your time on negativity, shame and hate. Life is too precious, make the most of it. Go on, give it a try.
I am taking good care of myself.
I am strong.
I am healthy.
I will accomplish my goals.
I choose to be happy.
I have the potential to heal completely.
I am successful.
I love and respect myself.
Want some more? I love this daily affirmation app. I like that I can set it to remind me several times a day. The photos are lovely and there are no ads. Check it out here on playstore.
I have set some fairly big goals for myself this year. I have a milestone birthday coming up, and that is a big motivator for me. Not from fear, but in celebrating my life, and being prepared to continue to do all that I want to.
So what are your goals? Will you join me in the 4 week sugar detox Facebook group?
Remember, any time is a good time to set new goals, not just the new year. Each day you have the opportunity to start again, to continue on or give in.
Don't wait to celebrate the goals you have accomplished, celebrate each step of the way, be proud of yourself.
And when you need support reaching those goals- nutritional and supplemental support, hormone balancing, mood and emotional support, I'm more than happy to help you out. Contact Lisa for more information.
